I had a 3.5mm stone leave my kidney about a month ago. it was noted at the uretropelvic junction. a follow up scan shows it returned to the kidney. is this common? should i consider it stable or is it likely to move again soon. debating litho??

Common: Stones will keep forming and efforts should be made in order to prevent them from forming. Getting a stone analyzed by straining urine may shed more light in the type of diet, proper hydration will help with all. Lithotripsy is considered on specific size and location and your urologist would be best to comment and time it right.

See below: The stone can move again and could block the flow of urine. You should consult a urologist to see if the stone can be removed with a basket. You should drink enough water every day so your urine is mostly colorless. This will help pass the stone and prevent formation of new stone. Wish you good health!
