A member asked:

If pt doesn't work and there is still pain in the iliopsoas tendon area will an injection help? surgery? what are the negatives in surgery? what are the risks, specific to that surgery, not the usual bleeding, infection, etc.? thanks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Iliopsoas tendinitis: In addition to physical therapy, this syndrome is treated with ultrasound guided corticosteroid injections. Surgery is not often used, but a tendon release procedure is another possible treatment. Complications are not uncommon and can include weakness of hip flexion, chronic pain and some loss of sensation.
