How is gabapentin different from lyrica besides that lyrica is fda approved for more things. also can gabapentin be taken as needed?

Differences: Indications overlap, but Gabapentin must be taken three times daily, and has a maximum effective dose of 1,800 mg daily. Lyrica is twice daily and has a much higher dose range. Neither can be taken as needed, as dosing must be consistent as directed by your physician.
