My husband has an itchy cough all day long, starting after having fizzy drinks. no flu like symptoms. could this be symptoms of reflux?

Possibly: A scratchy or itchy throat may also occur as a result of an allergic reaction. Since the cough persists all day, it is more likely the cause. Cough related to reflux tends to worsen in the supine position, around meal time, and with spicy foods. Use an antihistamine for two days and if the cough improves, please see an allergist. Watch for shortness of breath, rash, difficulty swallowing.
