Probably allergy: since cold/flu is not associated with itching. There is a condition known as pollen-fruit or oral allergy syndrome wherein one gets itching mouth/throat from eating certain fruits due to cross-reaction with pollen allergy. Apple, banana, melon, avocado are the more common culprits. Most ,if not all, patients with this issue also suffer from hay fever and/or asthma.
