Does external ear drops helps in curing middle ear infection?

Wouldn't think so: The middle ear is separated from the canal where such drops are placed by a tissue barrier, the ear drum. Someone with PE tubes/grommets in the drum might use drops that could enter through the device to the infected space. Otherwise they won't reach the infection.
