A member asked:

Diagnosed with hital hernia and gastritis. additionally have had two bronchitis episodes in two months. frequently experience bibasilar crackles when laying on right side. could this be caused by stomach acid leaking into lungs while laying down?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not from gastritis: While reflux and gastritis can cause some sore throat and coughing, it will not cause basilar crackles. It is because of some other underlying problem and not related to gastritis. Should get the lung problem evaluated further by a lung specialist.
