Speech: It is reassuring that your son has receptive language (he understands what is said and follows instructions) but we expect at least babbling of syllables by 18 months and linking 2 words sentences by 24 months. Allow him time to answer: eg. pause and wait for him to find words. Read to him and name items in the home, outside and everywhere. Raise this concern with your pediatrician.
