Group B strep: Group B beta strep exists peacefully in some areas of the body including the vagina causing no symptoms. It rarely causes vaginitis. I've seen use of amoxicillin, flagyl or clindamycin mentioned as treatments. Doxycycline, by culture study, showed less efficacy against Group B strep, at least in the laboratory.
