Why cant an achilles bone spur (mild achilles enthesopathy) be removed surgically without operating on the achilles? especially if the patients achilles is not torn or significantly damaged?

Archilles: The bone spur is in the archilles tendon - taking it out would mean disrupting the integrity of the tendon and may result in some of the tendon being excised as well.
