When is it time to see a doctor for a headache that has lasted several days but has gotten less intense with basic medicine?

Headache: If a headache becomes more intense despite treatment, or if there is a change in vision or a change in the movement of an arm or leg, or difficulty speaking, discuss your headache management with a doctor.

Headache: The cause of headache is important. You will need a detailed history and physical exam to diagnose it further. If the headache is improving and not associated with vision changes, nausea, vomiting, any scalp tenderness, then it can be monitored, but if becomes recurrent then should see a doctor.
