A member asked:

My 4yr old daughter has had to have 3 xrays in 9mths. they were 2 lower leg and one left side chest. i have since read this increases her risk of getting certain cancers. is this true it was never stated by the dr at the time i am very scared?

Minuscule risk: The amount of radiation that you are exposed to from routine simple xrays is so minuscule that it really is not even worth mentioning. I would not worry about this tiny amount of exposure. On the other hand, if someone suggests a CT scan study of a child, you do need to weigh the risk, as one CT Scan is about the same as 2,000 chest xrays. Don't worry about those tiny amounts.
