A member asked:

I took a 4th generation hiv test, blood drawn from the vein at my doct. office. at 33 days, almost 5 weeks after possible hiv exposure. which were negative. how accurate are my results? also, are my results likely to change in the coming weeks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: It is good that your result was negative and hopefully it will remain negative. To be sure, you should get a HIV nucleic acid test at 6 months after exposure. Get HPV vaccine. For info: https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/guidelines/testing.html Wish you good health!
