Hi doctor, i haven't been sleeping well since last week tuesday. i was supposed to be off i had family emergency and couldn't sleep well the whole of my off days. what can you advice that can help without taking some days off?

ESTABLISH ROUTINE: Best thing is to make sure that you get up at a set time every morning whether you have slept or not. Keep a routine. Eat healthy and get out and exercise. Do things that are positive and limit caffeine intake. Turn off electronics at least 30 minutes before bed.

INSOMNIA: There are excellent medications for insomnia. A Psychiatrist can guide you to the best one. Insomnia might be due to several different reasons. First have a complete physical exam by a Dr. to rule out underlying biological problem. If no problem consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy help & possible referral to a sleep study.
