A member asked:

If a breast duct with dcis in it is cut during biopsy, will the cancerous cells fall out of duct or remain in the tissue?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It is quite safe: Biopsy of a tumor or lump such as a DCIS can be safely done. The cell are firmly attached to each other, so they do not fall out or spread locally or systemically. You can proceed with biopsy quite safely.
