Gastritis.: Can be inflammation of the stomach, with acid going up your esophagus. Can happen secondary to lack of exercise, weight gain, increased stress, excessive caffeine and poor diet. Lifestyle modifications geared towards the above mentioned things should help. Short term omeprazole or famotidine otc for a week should help as well. If no improvement or symptoms worsening, seek medical attention.

GERD: You have noted almost all of the symptoms of GERD (gastro-esophageal-reflux-disorder), which demands treatment with avoidance of acidic foods and treatment with an H2 (acid) blocker like that described by Dr. Agarwal for at least two weeks. If this does not help,or if the symptoms recur, I would see an MD or leave Lebanon, whichever is easier.
