My husband is 57 been suffering with pain in lower back for a week he suspects its kidney stones. been in pain meds but its still paining. what should he do. had kidney stones before and had it laser removed. what should he do.

Possible causes of kidney stones: • Eating a diet that's high in protein, salt and sugar. • Obesity • Hyperparathyroidism • inflammatory bowel disease or chronic diarrhea • Taking calcium-based antacids, • Excessive use of laxatives • Decreased intake of water Please take your husband to a Urologist for Diagnosis and Treatment

See a doctor: With is history of kidney stones, he likely has more stones and should see a doctor. He should drink enough water every day so that his urine is mostly cololess. He may take paracetamol for pain, no more than 4 g in a day and no alcohol. Wish you and your husband good health!
