A member asked:

This winter my pointer finger below the knuckle would turn white, cold, and numb when out in cold weather, what would cause this? is it serious?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Information: This may be a variant of raynaud's phenomenon. It is an over reaction of the sympathetic and nervous system to the cold causing vascular spasm in the finger. Yes it can be serious and shoud be evaluated.
