Ultrasound ?'s: At age 55, and ultrasound of the uterus which shows a "prominent uterus with heterogeneous.vascular endometrium", may indicate an enlarge uterus with infiltration of endometrium into the smooth muscle of the uterus, a condition called "adenomyosis", which can cause heavier bleeding and pain. It is unlikely to be a malignant change, but consult your gyn for advice.
