Rebound: You may need to lower the dose but it sounds like the issue may be one of timing. When the medication wears off around bedtime your child may experience ‘rebound’ symptoms temporarily. Adhd symptoms can be exaggerated at this time, increasing sleep problems. The answer is usually to change the time the medication is given so that bedtime does not coincide with rebound. Talk to your child’s MD.
