A member asked:

Good day. my 6.5 year old son has secondary enuresis (past 6 months wetting bed without fail after being dry for 10 months). what type of doctor does he need to see? (gp, paed etc)

Depends: Many GP's will have experience with this issue while pediatricians see it weekly. I would contact your available docs offices & ask.

Start w pediatrician: I would start with your general pediatrician - they can check for most common things and then make most appropriate referral. That's usually to a pediatric urologist, but could also be nephrologist or other doctors more rarely depending on initial findings. If you absolutely want to start with a specialist, then I would choose a pediatric urologist.

Enuresis in Child: Due to "6 months wetting bed without fail after being dry for 10 months" of your 6,5 year old child, see Pediatrician for Diagnosis and Treatment. After that see a Child psychiatrist for Individual Therapy for your child and Family Therapy.
