A member asked:

I was diagnosed with a couple of dvts in my leg over a year ago and i constantly get cramps in my legs but they are getting worse. what can i do ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Leg cramps: The leg cramps are not necessarily related to your prior dvt's but could be due to deficiencies of calcium, magnesium or potassium. You may have some damage to your leg veins from old dvt's, but this usually causes leg and/or ankle swelling and aching of legs. Try taking a magnesium supplement recommended by your pharmacist. If not improved, consult a vascular surgeon for evaluation and advice.
