My question was misunderstood. does eye rubbing cause -0.5 cylinder power change in eye permanently ? i have this refractive error in right eye since few months. local opthalmologist said astigmatism could be caused by rubbing. will it go back to 0?

Interesting thought: But... every human on this planet rubs his or her eyes. That means there must be more to the story, which we are unaware of. Otherwise, if "eye rubbing" caused a cylinder change, then every human on this planet would have a cylinder change, right? So, the rest of the story is likely really important to know.
