Recent d- dimer is .27mcg/ml ( cutoff range .5mcg/ml) i read d- dimer is high in most cancers. is my value high enough to need more work up to rule out malignany? do healthy people also have detectable d dimer. worried why i have d dimer in my blood?

Depends: A laboratory test without a clinical history or a reason for doing the test often is meaningless. If the d-dimer test was done in consideration of a variety of disorders, then it could be significant. Such would include Covid, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary emboli, and certain cancers. Inotherwords, why was it done in the first place?
