I am living with someone who is exposed to covid and also worked closely with someone who tested positive. i was tested 3 days ago but it came back negative. i am experiencing covid symptoms. idk what else to do?

May likely be COVID: Assume you have it if you have the cough, fever, body aches, smelling changes, etc. 1) Go to ER if you are short of breath or have any major concerns. 2) Make sure you don’t spread it—assuming you can shed virus for 10 days from onset of symptoms 3) Get tested again—testing is not very sensitive and does miss cases.

QUARANTINE: The tests are not super accurate so you can get a false negative so best to assume that you are covid positive and stay home and hydrate and treat symptoms appropriately like keep down a fever etc. They do not have specific treatments yet for just mild to moderate symptoms. Only if you cannot keep fever down or have severe breathing issues or are dehydrated should you go to the doctor or hospital.
