Tested positive for covid with symptoms. i need a negative test to return to work. when can i get retested? do i have to wait a certain amount of time? i've seen 10 days since symptoms started but i don't want to take that much time off work?

You can have to test done now. If the test is positive you should not worry because test may remain positive for many weeks in certain people although you are less likely a host after 10 days without fever for more than one day. Cough is not a sign of contagious condition because it will last for weeks. After 14 days since the time you have symptoms & positive test you can go back to work per CDC.

If you do not have symptoms, you can return to work five days after the positive test, as long as you wear a mask for at least 5 days. The CDC revised the time line from 10 days to 5 days with the requirement to wear a mask for 5 more days.
