A member asked:

I am on testosterone replacement therapy and have gone for necessary bloodwork. i have noticed that my prolactin levels are high - worried about prolactima and a potential tumor on the pituitary. i would need an mri to confirm - how can i do this? kh

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Prolactinoma: I feel your best bet is to consult an endocrinologist to put together your history, symptoms, physical findings and pertinent laboratory results in order to satisfy criteria for performing the MRI. Insurance companies or health plans often require that type of justification before covering the MRI.
