I have type i iddm, in good control but have developed pain, severe stiffness and loss of rom in both hands that is progressing quickly. it presents almost as trigger finger but involves all 10 fingers. no loss of sensation, good cap refill. ideas?

Diabetes and Hands: Diabetes is a risk factor for several hand conditions, including trigger finger and carpal tunnel syndrome. Hand stiffness can be related to both trigger finger and osteoarthritis. I have also seen hand stiffness in patients with diabetes. You should consider seeing a hand surgeon for the complete evaluation and work up.

Stiffness in little finger. Loss of grip strength. Sever pain in hand when little finger is pressured. Xray shows no abnormalities. Not Carpal tunnel.
