Maybe/not: Ear infections are common in toddlers due to the size/shape/position of the Eustachian tube that drains accumulated mucus from the middle ear. Some have 4-5/yr . After a couple rounds of abx success of more is minimal. If fluid/infection remain after 60-90 days the placement of a PE Tube is common to allow the middle ear to dry out.Residual debris is sucked out of the space during the procedure.
