Consult baby’s doc: Depending on the age of your baby,may be different remedies.Constipation means the stools are hard and infrequent.Just going every few days would be normal.If your baby is crying with all stools,then it should be treated.First is to increase fluids,such as water.Also, depending on the age,increased fiber if eating solids,and less binding foods.Sometimes medication is needed;see doc if not better.
