A member asked:

An us of neck showed 2 lymph nodes, one was 1.5cm x 0.9 cm in cervical area and supraclavicular which was 0.5mmx0.4mm. from what i read, most of the the lymph nodes are oval and not rounded.rounded shapes are more concerning. is this the case?

Shape has no predic: The shape of the lymph nodes has no value in prediction in terms of the nature of the pathology but the size is important. Your nodes are not worry some at the moment. Nodes under 1.5CM are mostly benign unless they grow further in size. So watch the size changes by checking with fingers of your hand once every 2-3 weekly(not daily).

Watch and wait: You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!
