Time to see doctor: Chest pain means she should go to an ER (safest to call 911 for care and transport to ER). In adults, especially middle-aged 45-60 years, chest pain can be a heart attack (even if it feels like heartburn). If it turns out to be anginal heart pain, costochondritis, myocarditis, anxiety attack symptoms, collapsed lung, or stomach reflux, the ER can help determine the cause and start treatment.
