YES: Lanap procedure definitely reduces the colateral damage compare to the conventional surgical way. I am the periodontist and combine both therapy. I am not a pure lanap since like many technique, they applies in certain situation but not all. With lanap, undertreat the pocket is better than overtreat the pocket. Occlusion is the key to all treatment. Treat the cause of bone loss!

Absolutely: Good question. We have seen wonderful results, as long as the patients follow the protocol. Occasionally we may need to re-laser an area but this is not very common.

Yes: Stick to protocol, and make sure your bite/occlusion is proper and you're set.

Lanap is temporary: Lanap works best on clean teeth (which requires physical planing), but does not alter flora in the mouth, so reinfection occurs soon after lanap. Root planing with systemic dis-infection works better.

Yes. With only 3: Years experience I am convinced. Non smokers are better candidates. Close and specific detail for the procedure must be followed by the surgeon and the patient. Pocket reduction is by new attachment. Histology has shown new cementum & new bone along w shallower pockets. Truly one if the more amazing things witnessed in my 30 year career.

In Many Cases: LANAP or Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure uses a special type of laser to restore your gums and save teeth that would otherwise be lost. I have seen it do miracles but this treatment is expensive and it requires careful home care to maintain the results. I suggest a consultation with a LANAP dentist. Good luck
