A member asked:

Whenever i have a night of drinking i get intense aching pain down my arm the next day, what could cause this, and is it something to be concerned about? it is usually from my elbow to my wrist, and the arm the pain is in changes each time. thanks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Alcohol causes pain: Although not a common process, alcohol ingestion can cause pain in Hodgkin's lymphoma lymph nodes or swelling in even normal lymph nodes. Your arm involvement doesn't point to lymph node involvement, however. It may have more to do with build-up of alcoholic toxic metabolites causing inflammation. Another possibility is the dehydration and electrolyte imbalances seen with a hangover. ?See your MD
