Alcohol causes pain: Although not a common process, alcohol ingestion can cause pain in Hodgkin's lymphoma lymph nodes or swelling in even normal lymph nodes. Your arm involvement doesn't point to lymph node involvement, however. It may have more to do with build-up of alcoholic toxic metabolites causing inflammation. Another possibility is the dehydration and electrolyte imbalances seen with a hangover. ?See your MD
