A member asked:

Have a purple colored vein in back of throat ever since surgery. believe it to be from intubation. also dealing with head pressure and congestion and fatigue for weeks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not a vein: what type of surgery did you have? There might just be a bruise in the back of your throat and not a vein-it will usually be purple, and will heal on its own though it might be several weeks.. The head pressure, congestion and fatigue are usually not a result of intubation or anesthesia usually so you may be getting an unrelated upper respiratory infection depending on the kind of surgery you had.
