Should pregnancy be scary?

Only a little: No worries, especially in normal, healthy young women. That said, being pregnant is more dangerous than not being pregnant. Sadly, some women still die in pregnancy, even in developed countries. We as a society can keep trying to decrease such events, but there are always risks in pregnancy. That is the trade off we make in order to keep having cute children and keep the human species going.
