Pseudocyesis: The endocrine system tricks the body into appearing pregnant and the mind into perhaps believing the person is pregnant. Even men can get it. Queen mary of england suffered from this for months with tragic results. If this is happened to you, you have my sympathy; your physician will be able to help you, and it will not prevent you from eventually being a real mother.

Not a medical term: A pregnancy scare is not an actual medical diagnosis but rather an emotional reaction one has when they think they might be pregnant. Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days.
