A member asked:

I am about to become a seaman in engine department but my medical exam found a dextroscoliosis thoracic spine in xray, can i still be a seaman with this finding?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Likely: Scoliosis is a relatively common finding with a wide variation in degree. The issue tends to stabilize after puberty at whatever degree is present. Most cases don't result in symptoms or impair health. Whether this is something an employer might exclude you for would be up to them. I doubt it will be a problem.
