Cipro side effects: Yes, ciprofloxacin can do this. Also, the US Food and Drug Administration has issued warnings about potential serious side effects of cipro and other related drugs (the fluoroquinolones). The FDA advice is that these drugs never be used if a suitable alternate is available -- and there are several other antibiotics that are equally effective against UTI. Discuss alternatives with your doctor.
