Maybe not: If this is a "full blown" period with the characteristic amount of dark bleeding for the usual number of days, then it might be aberrationaly normal. In other words a one off alteration of a normal period. If the bleeding is bright red, amount is excessive, or the frequency remains at 18 days with the next menses, see your GYN MD for evaluation.
