Started treatment for h. pylori (after having it for 3 years and experiencing severe stomach pains daily) using mastic gum (1500mg, twice a day). 1-2hrs after starting treatment, felt dizzy, nauseated, with intense stomach pain. is it herx reaction?

Mastic gum: Since mastic gum is a supplement, I question if the FDA investigates it for efficacy. Proponents say it has no side effects but I would ask your pharmacist for more information. I'm not sure that many physicians would prescribe it to eradicate H Pylori instead of the recommended triple therapy most of us prescribe.
