Are fire ant bites harmful while pregnant? i didn't realize, but my living room chair near a window had fire ants in them and i have been getting bit for the last week on my hands and ankles. it itches and left a bunch of bumps. can this harm baby?

Not really: Fire ants inject carbonic acid in bites that form a sterile abscess. It is a localized process that does not enter your system further. Although it is an irritant, it is no threat to the baby.
