A member asked:

Hello, have a 108 glucose from yearly check up. i was fasting, no prior diabetes diagnosis. i did eat a heavy meal the night before? not sure if that would relate to it being elevated. my father has diabetes. everything else was normal?

Not enough : A single glucose measurement of 108 is not enough to diagnose diabetes. Your Dr will follow up by ordering a HgA1C level and repeat fasting glucose. A HgA1C higher than 6.5% with a repeat glucose over 126 would confirm that you have Diabetes. Talk to your Dr about follow up testing and start looking at your diet to determine if you are eating meals that make your sugar levels spike.
