Treating hepatitis B: Certain antiviral drugs often can cure hepatitis B. It's a complex issue, and details of treatment are quite different for different patients and different stages of the hepatitis and amount of liver damage. Discuss with the doctor treating you -- or advice the infected person to do so, if it's someone else.

Medication: See a physician with expertise in management of hepatitis. There are now medications with which to treat this. Do it reasonably soon because the longer you live with this the greater the potential for permanent injury to the liver. This having been said, it is not an emergency.

DNA inside nucleus: Hepatitis b dna (genetic material) gets inside the nucleus of liver cells and we do not know how to get it out. The ways we can control hbv are through a person's immune response, or with antiviral medications that prevent the virus from making copies of itself. Current hbv medications are very effective and well tolerated. People may also need screening for liver cancer.

Yes: Hepatitis c can be cured completely. Hepatitis b can be controlled, sometimes "cured" however it usually remains in your liver dna and can re-activate in certain occasions.

Nothing available: There is no therapy for this disease beyond supportive care until the process self heals over time. There is a vaccine to prevent it, but if you have it, the vaccine would not help. Good basic nutrition, restorative sleep & time are the factors that lead to resolution.
