If someone in a family is suffering from typhoid, does that mean other should not sit with him, touch him, not share phone etc? can you share toilet with typhoid patient? to what extent do we need to stay away from him/her?

Basics: Typhoid is caused by a bacteria that infects the gut & elaborates toxins that cause additional symptoms like fever. It can/will be excreted in the stool/stool water for a time after an infection. If you avoid direct contact with their stool/stool water you are not at risk otherwise. This is not passed through their skin, breath or a cough.
