Ortho evaluation: Longstanding cracking sounds are abnormal in a 19 year-old. You need to be evaluated by an orthopaedic surgeon to make sure you have not injured the cartilage, meniscus, or ligaments within your knee. Xrays will likely be obtained, and even an MRI to best evaluate the status of the meniscus and cartilage.
