A member asked:

Had ecg in the er and was told it was normal. in the report i see sinus bradycardia; cannot rule out ant infarct, age undetermined; abnormal ecg. atrial/vent rate was 55. should i be worried? should i press for an earlier f/u with pcp?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Abnormal EKG: In absence of symptoms, sinus bradycardia means slow heart rate which is better than tachycardia. Cardiac enzymes normal? Poor progression of r wave in anterior leads may be placement of the leads, body habitual or an old change. If you are feeling fine, there are no acute changes, no further management is needed. Beta blockers , some calcium channel blockers , hypothyroidism can cause bradycardia
