A member asked:

Hi docs. why do i get nosebleeds after a sunny day, sometimes even when i'm in the shower. can this be a genetic issue as my younger sibling is experiencing the same?

Nose bleeds: Uncertain. However, dry air can dry out nasal membranes so that they can crack & bleed more easily. Hot water can dialate the blood vessels in your nose increasing the risk for bleeding. There are rare family conditions that can increase risk for nose bleeds like hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia .
