A member asked:

I have had a laproscopic appendectomy 3 days ago, on strong antibiotics. started having bowel movements again but they are a bit dark, smelly and watery. no fever (37.3c inside mouth) is this considered normal?

Can be normal: Since you are in strong antibiotics stools can definitely change. I would add a probiotic daily until stools back to normal. If having more than 10 watery or mucousy/bloody stools, then need test for condition called C. difficile colitis. Take things easy post op and add some Greek yogurt to your diet as well.
