How long is the normal healing process of lumbar microdiscectomy? what is a good therapy?

Varies: You should be free of leg pain immediately. Back pain can linger for a few days. Totally normal within 6 weeks. I tell my patients to avoid axial loading over 25 lbs x 6 w: no jogging, heavy military press, high impact aerobics. Stationary bike, cycling, elliptical and walking ok fr day one. Swimming is the best. Bend at the waste, that us, squat like a catcher when picking things up -close to u.

8-10 weeks: For a uncomplicated microdiscectomy, most patients can begin to gradually resume normal activities after 6-8 weeks. Obviously, your surgeon should be involved in this decision. After recovery, core strengthening and weight control are beneficial. Check out spine-health.Com.
